Bringing Fall Freshness To Florida Summer

Bringing Fall Freshness To Florida Summer

Florida is known for its glorious sunny weather year round. Whether visiting on a trip or living there for the short/long-term,  this state is the perfect destination for those who thrive on soaking in some heat and shine. So no-brainer that the weather calls for swimsuits, tanks and shorts galore - and within summer style you can certainly get creative with a variety of looks. But you should know me by now, I can't resist exploring looks beyond the obvious, in-season styles. So in deciding what I can get away with under this glorious Florida sun (without sweating like a pig from overheating), I landed on this refreshing and clean outfit that serves Fall in the middle of Summer.

Light & Fresh Fashion

Let's get into it. I want to start by talking about this super fresh denim-ish shirt from Calvin Klein. Jean-like shirts are always intriguing to me because denim is primarily incorporated in pants, so when I saw that this shirt also had a detailed and subtle pattern to it, I absolutely had to pick it up. I didn't want to just go blue denim shirt with blue denim pants, so to help break it up but still stay in alignment with the brightness in the shirt, I decided to go with my simple and clean gray denim pants from H&M. To complement that, I had to go with a gray/white scarf that I also picked up from H&M. I just picked up this lovely black hat from Target, so figured I would anchor the look with my fav black boots from (you guessed it) H&M and an assortment of black accessories (including my handy-dandy black watch from Guess - duh).

The Importance of Accessorizing

What really gives this look some character are the scarf and the hat. There is something about the combination that makes the look feel classic and relatable (for lack of a better word) - but in concert with what all of the other elements of the outfit are expressing, the fit is still quite unique and definitely turned some heads. When flowing in the Florida breeze, the scarf amplifies the look with some passive drama that allows you to give representation to the refreshing gusts that fly around throughout the day.

Can't Neglect the Details

Now we have to discuss the details on this. Smaller accessories are often passive in comparison to the more prominent pieces, like a hat or scarf, but their role in accenting everything is still powerful. When I said anchor, I meant it - these metallic, black accessories not only give some boldness to the otherwise light and sweet look, but they also reflect highlights well which helps give cohesion to the rest of the look. Remember, every detail counts when you're aiming to display a quality and coordinated fit.

Next Season Style

Well folks, that's how it's done. If you want to take a step away from showing off your beautiful skin and body, and give your audience a preview of what you have cooking for Fall, put on your bright and cool collection and strut like it's New York Fashion Week. You are a trend-setter after all.
