Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

A Platform For (e)Xpression

A Platform For (e)Xpression

Have you ever just wanted to express so many things, but haven't known how? Well you're not alone - that would be you, me and millions of people around the world.

There are many outlets for expression:

  • Some people seek therapy
  • Some people lean on close friends and relatives
  • Some people take to social channels
  • Some people vlog or record themselves
  • And some people choose to write

Being a very emotional and spiritual person, I have struggled for years trying to find the best way to express myself. Depending on my personal state, there are some things that have been more effective and productive for me than others.

  • When I was trying to understand myself and others around me during my college years, I had about 2-3 therapy sessions to make sense of my personal chaos and distress. Super productive - highly recommend!
  • Outside of family and a few childhood friends, I have tried leaning on acquaintances to fulfill my need for connection and validation. Unless you trust these people and they truly understand you, stick to those friends and relatives.
  • Lord knows I have blasted way too many details across social channels growing up (was infamous during my MySpace and early Facebook days). I think most of us know by now that that isn't always the wisest choice.
  • Haha, yeah, I've tried recoding a video or two of myself. You know, that sorta vlogging thing. Needless to say, I'm not a YouTuber, but something I've considered as I get more coherent with my thoughts.
  • But what I would say has always been the most productive form of expression for me, is writing. Poems, notes, journal entries and blogs - writing is expression to me.

I don't think highlighting blogging as a good medium for sharing thoughts, opinions or ideas is by any means a revolutionary concept - as countless people have personal blogs and Tumblrs that they use to do just that all of the time. But for some reason, being a genius that lacks common sense and can realize the little things a little later than others, I never thought to do this sooner.

But as I mentioned, I am emotional, and I think that my feelings have been far too turbulent, ever-evolving and deep beyond immediate comprehension to capture in clear written word. Well, at the exciting age of 27, I believe the synapses of my brain have finally pruned to a point where I am able to simplify what I need to say and outline my abundance of knowledge appropriately.

I digress - which I have a habit of doing.

So why am I going on and on about expression? Well, because I am excited to share this brand-new blog with you! Titled - you guessed it - Xpression. Another one of my mental products that I am trying to brand with "X", Xpression is a blog that strips down my agenda in fashion, lifestyle and digital, and provides an informal, raw and personal perspective on things. Literally, anything goes here - you can expect opinions on news/politics, personal research, spirituality, sex, love, art, people and most importantly: being a queer, bald, Blatino man in the 21st century.

  • If you're a professional peer that just happened to stumble upon this section of my website - please, no judgments.
  • If you're a friend or family member, hopefully you can relate to plenty of what I have to share and this only brings us closer.
  • And if you're a prospective partner or lover - I encourage you to keep reading, because this is the magic you can look forward to bb.

I happily welcome you to yet another one of my blogs - long overdue. Get ready to Xpress yourself.
